| ABOUT US |
| Hi. welcome to the home page of Time Was. We have been in the antiques and collectibles business since 1987. John, born in England and an American citizen as of 2002, was a jeweler and diamond setter until 1990 when an injury caused by 38 years at the bench forced a career change, having begun his career as a diamond setter with a 6 year apprenticeship in England from the age of 15. Ruth began an interest in antiques beginning with her English grandmother's gifts of teapot and teacups to her at age 16, followed by the family victoriana. We had a business called Regeneration in Redding, California for a number of years and then Time Was Antiques in Chester/Lake Almanor until moving to Oregon in 2005. We had opened our online business in 2002 and continued with that after closing our bricks and mortar shop when we moved to Oregon. In September, 2007 we relocated to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, a favorite spot for us. We travel to England to search for wonderful antiques, collectibles and tea items for a month each year. We are members of the Antique & Collectible Dealers Association. We are members of the Torquay Pottery Association. We are members of the Shelley China Collectors clubs in the USA, England and Australia. We are members of the Transferware Collectors Association. We have been featured in Southeastern Antiquing magazine, Tea House Times and Tea Time Magazine. Photos and descriptions taken from Time Was Antiques, at http://www.timewasantiques.net have been included in the 2007, 25th edition of Schroeder's Antiques and Collectibles Guide (see page 492 in the Shelley China listing)and have been invited to be included in the upcoming invitation only Schroeder's Guide to Internet Antique and Collectible sites.
